About East Wind House
Meet the Curator
East Wind House is the vision of Helen Baker, founder and principal designer of Helen Baker Interiors. Known for creating timeless, welcoming spaces that bring people together, Helen has always believed that beautiful surroundings have the power to inspire meaningful connection.
Her love of American Mah Jongg began with the game itself—the strategy, laughter, and friendly competition—but it quickly grew into an appreciation for the community that forms around the table and the design elements of the game. She discovered that Mah Jongg isn't just a game; it's an opportunity to slow down, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Inspired by that experience, Helen created East Wind House as a curated Cape Cod Mahjong club—a place where everyone, from complete beginners to experienced players, feels welcome. Set within the beautifully restored carriage house of a historic captain's home in West Harwich, East Wind House offers an inviting environment where guests can learn, play, gather, and celebrate.
Every detail of the space reflects Helen's design philosophy: comfortable, elegant, and thoughtfully designed to make people feel at home. Whether you're joining a class, attending free play, hosting a private party, or simply looking to meet new friends, East Wind House is here to foster connection through the timeless tradition of Mah Jongg.
Helen's hope is that every guest leaves with more than a great game—they leave with new friendships, joyful memories, and a reason to return to the table again and again.
